FIBER BUDDY MEETUP HISTORY

Do It In Public  Midwest Fiber and Folk Art Guild

We gather on the 2nd Tues evening, the 3rd Wed evening,and the 4th Sunday afternoon each month in various locations, and we do our art (whatever it is – lacemaking, knitting, spinning, basket weaving, hand quilting, etc) in a public place. We invite anyone who would like to attend.

We’ll be joined in Schaumburg by Isis Perez of KnitSpin Fibers and Yarn, who will come to tell us about her fiber arts business and to show us some yarn.

We’ll also be joined by Pamela Haschke, President and Founder of Halos of Hope, who will tell us the incredible story of that worthy organization. Halos of Hope is now supplying 150 locations with hats for cancer patients. What a wonderful way to celebrate & share in the work of our hands!

All you Tuesday morning Starbucks spinners, BEWARE!  Tomorrow, Tuesday, February 2nd, is Groundhog Day, and Woodstock is planning extensive celebrations, many of which have gone on over the last several days.  However, I gather that the Square is likely to be pretty busy in the morning, starting at or before 6 am, which is the time that the bookstore, Between the Lynes, is going to open.  If you’re thinking of spinning in Starbucks tomorrow, be prepared to park a bit farther away than usual.
